Nina Ilič (born on February 5th, 1979). As for formal education, she is a food technician, preschool teacher, Public Administration Graduate, and is continuing her education. She is also a beekeeper, a certified apitherapist, and an author of an innovative professional pedagogical program Apipedagogy which includes a world innovation: professional apitherapy in kindergarten and school. For the latest, she received, among others, special recognition from the Municipality of Ljubljana (the capital city in Slovenia), the recognition of Anton Janša from the Beekeepers Association of Slovenia, the memorial medal of the Government of Slovenia, and a Letter of Support from the president of Slovenia: dr. Nataša Pirc Musar.
In her long years of practice, she conducts apitherapy practice in public kindergartens. In that regard, she collaborates with public administration (Municipality of Ljubljana and Ministry for Education). She provides her professional services in state and municipal educational institutions.
Apitherapy is far from just a nutritional or just medicinal aspect, it also contains other professional aspects. Child development (or supporting a child with autism in a kindergarten group) is also a strong and measurable element. She covers these aspects in her apitherapy practice.
Her competencies vary between human nutrition, developmental psychology (and other aspects of a child's development), and human rights and fundamental freedoms, including children's rights. With this, she represents welcoming credibility also from the point of view of legal adequacy and interdepartmental cooperation.
Apitherapy is a wonderful treasure chest of knowledge and scientific facts, which combine and connect different sciences: medicine, education, nutrition, pharmacy, etc. That is why she organized within the framework of the Institute for the Development of Empathy and Creativity Eneja and in cooperation with Croatian Apitherapy Society the International Conference "Apitherapy for Children 2024" that was a huge success.
In addition, she is also a regular guest in the permanent monthly radio show entitled "Apitherapist Nina advices" on Radio Univox, Slovenia.
She senced the path of writing as a child; at the age of 13 she wrote a poem that ten years later made the life of a boy with cancer easier and then also helped him on his last journey. With Nina's permission, the boy's grandmother, a writer, published this poem in a book of fairy tales that she wrote just for her grandson.
All of her 27 stories were published by the leading newspaper in Slovenia, in 2013 she self-published the first Slovenian manual on animal-assisted therapy. A period of motherhood followed. After that, she found her professional mission in apitherapy for children and, as a result, developing pedagogic-apitherapy programs, all the while remaining faithful to creating with words.
The EKRAMS fairy tale is a fairy tale that combines her love for apitherapy and writing and is very important to her, as she created it together with her daughter.
In addition to writing stories, she regularly publishes professional and scientific articles on the topic of Apipedagogy and apitherapy.

AN ENDEARING ANECDOTE FROM NINA'S PRIVATE LIFE
At the age of 9, Nina 'was the editor' of her own magazine, called Blisk; it was a magazine for animal lovers. The sheets were not bound, because she didn't even know how to do it. She reproduced it by photocopying and folding the sheets. The customers were, of course, parents and grandparents in the area. It wasn't just Nina who wrote for the magazine, she also encouraged her friends from the 'Kitty Club' she chaired, even though she did the most by far. In this informal club, the children rescued discarded animals and wrote stories and interviews about it, presented various types of animals, etc.
Once during that time, Nina's friend secretly sent a copy of Blisk magazine to Radio Glas Ljubljane and told Nina only when she should listen to the radio... It was quite an interesting surprise for Nina when Blisk magazine was presented and praised on the radio.
